What are we about?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

ParaEducate develops and provides resources for training educators to effectively support and include kids with disabilities in inclusive TK-12 schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who do we serve?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Paraeducators, teachers, and administrators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What can we provide?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

ParaEducate is currently providing the ParaEduate book, modified instructional materials, reflections on experience in the classroom, and conference presentations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why do we do this?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We believe all students are capable of learning and deserve to be taught by trained professionals. Research has found that often students with the most severe disabilities are taught by educators with the least experience and training. We want to remedy this situation and provide training materials and resources so students receive quality instruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Renay H. Marquez<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Renay H. Marquez, Co-Founder of ParaEducate, is a graduate of the University of Southern California, School of Architecture. She has worked as a paraeducator from 2003 to 2022 with the same district in California. Prior to being a paraeducator, Renay has worked for several government agencies and education groups. Renay currently spends her workdays modifying curriculum, collecting data, and investigating technology for students as a special education teacher. She is also a current MASET candidate for California State University, Sacramento. As ParaEducate, Renay leads the publications (books and blog), is the lead Editor for Inclusion From Square One, and a contributor to Distance Learning for Special Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
