We Talk Frequently About Cal-TASH and TASH

Truthfully, unless you are going to a paraeducator specific conference, and they do exist, you are not going to get a lot of information about special education. Cal-TASH is for self-advocates, families of self-advocates, policy makers, teachers, related service providers, and people involved in special education. The theme for 2024 was around supportive living and housing.

Renay attended sessions about responding to legislation for education topics, new legal issues that the Ninth Circuit Court has made judgements on for students with disabilities, sessions about the California Alternative Assessment, college opportunities for students with disabilities, providing systems for teaching both self-determination and identifying issues with special education teacher health, and Sexual Education for people with disabilities.

Each session takes a different set of skills to participate and think about how to connect to students with disabilities especially in the K-12 world. While the theme was looking forward for all people with disabilities and how to teach those initial skills now for students with disabilities. What might those skills be?
